Gilded Adornment Portrait
from $125.00

A Gilded Adornment Portrait is a custom metal leaf portrait with acrylic painting and built-in openings that allow you to add your own jewelry directly onto the canvas. Each piece is hand-drawn, painted, and gilded to create a glowing, personalized portrait and the jewelry you choose brings it to life.

Use your own pieces, family heirlooms, meaningful accessories, or items that represent your style. The artwork includes clean, discreet holes designed for earrings, necklaces, or pendants, making the portrait interactive and completely unique to you.

Give it as a gift or memorialize someone. It’s a modern heirloom that honors someone you love with art, memory, and personal adornment. All in one unforgettable piece.

How It Works

1. Add to Cart
Once you pick your package option, Add to cart and you will be prompted for next step

2. Select Gilding Details
Dropdown menu will be provided after adding item to cart. Choose where metal leaf will be applied and in what tone (gold, silver, copper, or varigated). Gilded areas may include: Skin, hair, clothing, and hat. Please select metals that are part of your package. If different metals are chosen, the correct ones for your package will be used instead.

3. Choose Background Colors
Share your color palette or mood for the acrylic painted background. Option to add a reference image of colors with next step.

4. Share Your Photos
Send 2–5 clear reference images of the person being portrayed. Earlobes must both be visible.

5. Provide Jewelry Inspiration
Show jewelry you plan to use (or the style you like). This helps place openings correctly.

6. Review & Approve Design Direction
We finalize opening placement, colors, and gilding accents.

7. Creation Process
Your portrait is illustrated, painted, gilded, and built with discreet openings for earring hooks, chains, or pendants.

Examples of Image Alteration

Changed facial expression per request

Removed cardigan for shoulder study.

Submitted image

To ensure your portrait integrates seamlessly with the chosen jewelry and design, I can make light adjustments to your reference image. This may include:

  • Removing or reshaping clothing (such as a cardigan) to reveal the neckline and allow jewelry to hang correctly

  • Adjusting the head or body angle for better placement

  • Changing or refining facial expressions—including smiles, winks, or more neutral looks

  • Enhancing clarity or reconstructing areas of the photo that are obscured

These edits are always done thoughtfully, keeping the final artwork natural and true to the person.
This service is especially valuable for memorial portraits, where only a few cherished images may be available. I can work from limited photos to create a respectful, accurate, and beautifully composed portrait.
