How I Make Original Art and Custom Commissions More Accessible

Why I Care About Offering Art at Different Price Points

As an artist, I know that original art can sometimes feel like something meant only for a small group of people. Galleries, luxury spaces, and high price tags can make collecting feel out of reach. But that has never been what I want my work to mean.

I believe art should be something people can actually live with. It should bring warmth to a home, tell a story, hold a memory, and create connection. I want my work to feel special and meaningful, but I also want it to feel possible.

That is why I care deeply about creating art at different price points.

Art Should Feel Personal, Not Exclusive

For me, art is about belonging. It is about the relationship between people, animals, architecture, memory, and home. Those ideas are deeply human, and I do not believe they should only be available to people with large budgets.

Some collectors are ready for an original gilded painting or a custom commission. Others may be looking for a smaller piece, a print, or a first artwork that helps them begin collecting in a way that feels comfortable. Both are valuable. Both matter.

Making art accessible does not mean making it less meaningful. It means honoring the fact that people connect with artwork in different ways and at different stages of life.

Why My Pricing Varies

Not every artwork requires the same amount of time, materials, or labor. Some pieces involve hand-applied metal leaf, layered oil and mixed media, custom surfaces, framing, or many hours of detail work. Others may be smaller studies, prints, or works designed to offer a more affordable way to bring my art into your space.

Creating a range of pricing allows me to offer:

Original one-of-a-kind works

These are the most labor-intensive pieces and often include layered materials, gilded surfaces, and detailed craftsmanship.

Smaller originals

These can be a wonderful entry point for collectors who want something handmade and unique at a more approachable investment.

Prints and reproduced works

These help make my imagery available to more people while still honoring the original artwork.

Custom commissions

These are deeply personal works created around your story, your loved ones, your pets, and your home. Pricing reflects the time, scale, materials, and collaboration involved.

Affordable Does Not Mean Less Valuable

I think there is an important difference between affordable and cheap.

Affordable means thoughtful. It means creating options so more people can connect with art in a real way. It means respecting different budgets while still honoring the years of practice, material cost, design thinking, and emotional energy that go into each piece.

Whether someone purchases a print, a small original, or a large commission, I want them to feel that they are bringing home something intentional and lasting.

Collecting Art Can Start Small

Not everyone begins with a large statement piece, and that is okay. Sometimes collecting starts with one small work that makes you feel seen. Sometimes it starts with a gift. Sometimes it starts with a print that reminds you of a place, a season, or someone you love.

Over time, that first piece can become part of a larger story in your home.

I love being able to offer options that let people start where they are.

My Goal as an Artist

My goal is to create work that feels rich in meaning, layered in beauty, and connected to real life. I want my art to live in beautiful homes, yes, but also in everyday spaces where it can be felt and enjoyed daily.

I never want someone to assume my work is not for them before they even ask.

That is why I continue to create a range of offerings — from original paintings and commissions to prints and smaller pieces — so that more people can find something that speaks to them.

An Invitation

If you have connected with my work but have felt unsure whether original art is within reach, I want you to know there may be an option for you. Collecting art does not have to happen all at once, and it does not have to look the same for everyone.

Art is personal. It should meet you where you are.

If you have questions about available work, commissions, prints, or price ranges, I am always happy to help you find something that fits your space and your budget.
