Custom Art Commissions

Portraits, pets, places, and personal paintings created in Tiffany Zen’s signature style.

Bring Your Story Into a Gilded Painting

I create custom paintings that are personal, layered, and made to live with you for years to come. From portraits and pet portraits to home-inspired pieces, memorial artwork, and symbolic commissions, each painting is designed around your story, space, and vision. My work blends expressive color, linework, and gilded metal leaf to create one-of-a-kind artwork that feels deeply meaningful and visually striking.

A Family Portrait Commission

This custom Art Nouveau family portrait features an ornate gold leaf frame and heavy florals in deep reds, soft pinks, and white peonies. Painted in oil with copper leaf on the cats and gold leaf for the figures and edges, it evolved through sketches, revisions, and a critique that added dimension to the faces and refined hair details. The process was collaborative and rewarding. The painting is finished and ready for pickup. Read the full step-by-step journey.

Gilded Adornment Portrait (Signature Offering)

These portraits are designed to hold more than an image. They are created to carry meaning.

Each Gilded Adornment Portrait is a custom painting built with hand-applied metal leaf and intentionally designed to incorporate personal jewelry directly into the artwork. Openings within the composition are carefully planned to hold earrings, necklaces, or other meaningful pieces, allowing the portrait to physically carry objects tied to memory, identity, and story.

This creates a layered, dimensional work that exists between painting and object, where adornment becomes part of the composition rather than something depicted. The jewelry is not painted. It is physically added to the artwork, becoming part of the final piece.

Because of this integration, the composition, pose, and structure of the portrait are thoughtfully developed from the beginning to support both the painting and the placement of jewelry.

These works are especially meaningful for

honoring personal identity and style

incorporating heirloom or sentimental jewelry

creating a deeply personal, one of a kind artwork

Whether you are honoring a relationship, capturing a meaningful place, or creating something entirely your own, this process is designed to translate your story into a lasting work of art.

Each piece is created with care, intention, and material depth, becoming something that lives with you over time, not just something you hang on a wall.

If you have an idea, even if it is still forming, you are welcome to reach out. I will guide you through the next steps and help shape the direction of the piece.
